In a context of continuous change that is difficult to predict, it is increasingly important to know how to abstain from one’s own convictions and broaden one’s own vision, in order to better prepare for the challenges that the future holds for us. In the era that brings coser what is far away and push away what is near, the contemporary man, pervaded by software and devices, builds new images of himself in virtual showcases, but struggles to be full protagonist of his world, often limiting himself to react to external inputs, rather than actually act, understand and interact.  

How much is the digital society transforming our way of acting? How to avoid becoming a tool at the service of technology and how, instead, to find the right balance between real and virtual?  

In this meeting, the participants will be able to discuss with Professor Umberto Galimberti, philosopher, author and Professor Emeritus of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, who will illustrate a different perspective to decode today’s digital society, providing some useful reading keys to face the daily challenges, as well as those of tomorrow.
