This period of tension and uncertainty has reminded us that the well-being of our society depends also on the availability of safe and cheap energy. Are the "big three" - oil, methane and coal - still sufficient (but above all, given their environmental impact) to cover world energy needs? What new scenarios for energy are opening up and will open up thanks to technological innovation not only in technology but also in materials? What impact will they have on businesses?
 
During this meeting, participants will have the opportunity to discuss with Nicola Marzari, Professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and expert on energy technologies. In particular, the following topics will be addressed:

• current status and future prospects of different energy sources
• An overview of new materials and technologies that can contribute to the challenge of the energy transition.
