Climate change and, in general, greater attention to environmental and ethical issues, are pushing many companies to rethink their business models to adopt more equitable ones and that take into account their social and environmental impact. Even without pressure from the institutional side, more and more companies decide to put the impact on the outside world at the same level of business objectives, often drawing, in the long run, also economic benefits. Among these, one of the successful models is that of the "Benefit Corporations" (B-Corp), which is increasingly gaining ground in the world (but also in Italy), laying the foundations for a new way of understanding doing business.
 
How can businesses pursue ESG objectives without sacrificing economic performance? What does it mean to be a B-Corp and what economic model do they pursue? Which companies have become it and with what results?
 
In this meeting participants will discuss with Christopher Marquis, Professor of Sustainable Business and author of the book "Better Business: How the B Corp Movement Is Remaking Capitalism". Participants will then delve deeper into the B-Corp movement, a group of companies that decide to place social benefits, workers' rights, community impact and environmental management at the same level as profits. Global trends and some case studies of Italian and international companies that have successfully joined the B-Corp movement will be analyzed, creating benefits for the environment and society but, at the same time, also for their business.
