Circular economy: the key to making production and consumption more sustainable?

Grand Hotel Majestic già Baglioni Via Indipendenza, 8 - 40121 BOLOGNA

The circular economy is spreading throughout Europe, offering a possible path of sustainable development that is an alternative to the increasingly unsustainable model of waste and consumption.

How can the circular economy overcome the limits of the traditional economy? How to apply it in systems originally thought for a linear economy? And how to create a virtuous and profitable circuit respecting the "planetary limits" of materials and energy?

In this meeting, the participants will have the opportunity to chat with Valentina Carbone, international expert of circular economy and sustainable supply chain, and explore the different models of circular economy emerging in Europe, with analysis of ideas and solutions potentially useful for businesses. The meeting will use a tool of intelligence and collective creativity (Circular Economy Collage) enriched by the direct contributions of the expert, in order to deepen:

  • The limits of the linear economy: the negative impacts on the environment and on the resilience of the business in the medium-long term
  • The principles of the circular economy: how to reconcile sustainability and economic development
  • The specific characteristics, critical and successful factors of the different models in which the circular economy can materialise.
