Revitalising traditional business strategies: the potential of digital data, platforms and ecosystems

Baker Hughes Florence Learning Center Via Perfetti Ricasoli, 78 - 50127 FIRENZE

In an increasingly digital world, it becomes essential for "traditional" businesses to rethink and improve their products and services by making the most of what technology provides. Data, sensors and digital platforms have the potential to revolutionize business models, to create real digital ecosystems. There are many areas of application: from logistics efficiency, to customer experience, to the development of digital innovation platforms. At the same time, however, data and increasingly pervasive technology pose a challenge, both when it comes to consumer privacy and in terms of the security of your business.

How can companies maximize the strategic opportunities offered by data and new technologies? How to use the new digital platforms to create a digital ecosystem, able to go far beyond the reference industry? How to overcome the risks inherent in this new digital approach?

During this meeting with the digital strategy expert Mohan Subramaniam, author of The Future of Competitive Strategy, Participants will reflect on how companies can leverage both their traditional strengths and the power of digital data and ecosystems and gain significant competitive advantages. By analyzing the experience of a number of traditional companies that have faced this transformation, it will be possible to understand how businesses can benefit from the expanded role of data in modern business, developing digital ecosystems tailored to their needs and overcoming the challenges inherent in this path. In particular, we will focus on:

  • data and new technologies challenges and potential
  • new digital frameworks: how to transform old value chains into digital ecosystems and platforms
  • create a new strategy that combines new digital opportunities with the company’s traditional strengths.
