Generational Gap: bringing veterans and new players together to achieve common goals

(*) Service aimed at executives and middle managers in which AP members can participate.
Crowne Plaza Verona Via Belgio, 16 - 37135 VERONA

Baby Boomers, Generation Y, Millennials and Generation Z. Four generations in comparison that, at work, must collaborate, composing teams often heterogeneous for visions and values. In fact, it is not always easy to manage these differences and transform them into strengths, useful for achieving common goals.

How to fill the generational gap in the company? How to tune in to everyone and shorten the distances?

During this meeting, participants will have the opportunity to confront the experts involved who, through concrete examples and practical suggestions, will give insights on the most useful skills to break down obstacles and manage heterogeneous teams.

Alessandro Braga, of The European House - Ambrosetti, will give us an overview of what it means today to manage the different generations in the company, highlighting the results of the search "Open Jam" which gathered more than 1,000 young Under30. In particular, it will highlight how the circulation of information and knowledge, in addition to collaboration between different age groups, are crucial for the competitiveness of companies and, consequently, of the country-system.

Fabio Conti, former coach of the Italian National Women’s Water Polo, will tell us how to achieve success thanks to the dialogue and cooperation between players from distant generations, a recurring theme in water polo. Through stories and concrete examples linked to his professional experience, he will then focus on the value of the path, also made of fatigue and failures, which leads to fostering dialogue between experts and new recruits.

Christian Zoli, Coach, expert of Generational Gap in the company and game designer, will help us to identify obstacles to dialogue between different generations, highlighting both the value differences and the points on which to leverage to shorten the distances and motivate everyone to the achievement of common objectives. Through the metaphor of the game, he will tell us both of the "pillars" useful for understanding the needs of different generations, and of some practical advice on how to manage them, getting in tune with all the members of a team.
