The adoption of data-centric methodologies for process and product innovation in industry has enormous potential but, to date, there are no off-the-shelf (proprietary or open source) solutions ready to be introduced in the enterprise. Indeed, data-centric innovation requires "tailoring" approaches and multidisciplinary teams, embedded in a well-delineated strategy where decision makers can make the difference between success and failure.
