AGGIORNAMENTO PERMANENTE
IN PERSON
Italy’s Paradigm shift and the challenges for Piedmont

c/o UniCredit University Via XX settembre, 29 (angolo Via dell’Arcivescovado) TORINO

At a time when Italy is showing signs of improvement in economic performance and reputation, yet still struggles to achieve sustained growth, Piedmont stands out as one of the most interesting and complex regions to observe and understand the transformation dynamics of the national productive system.
The area embodies multiple economic identities: from post-industrial Turin, which is redefining its future after the crisis of the automotive sector, to the territories of Cuneo, Asti and Gavi, where tariffs on agri-food products have had significant effects, up to the tourism sector, which has been experiencing steady growth in recent years.
Drawing on updated data and research conducted in collaboration with local business associations, the meeting with Marco Fortis will offer a detailed overview of Piedmont’s economy, highlighting its internal diversity and the emerging development trajectories in the industrial, service and tourism sectors. A comparison with the national framework will also provide the tools to understand how Piedmont fits today within Italy’s broader economic context, considering recent improvements in ratings and macroeconomic indicators, with the aim of rethinking the growth model of a region that remains key to the country’s competitiveness.

In particular, the discussion will explore:
• the national economic scenario, including perspectives and macroeconomic growth indicators;
• the productive fabric of Piedmont, with its complexity and diverse trajectories of economic development.
