This visit will offer participants the opportunity to directly observe an advanced operational model in waste management, integrated within a local context that has successfully transformed an industrial infrastructure into an economic, cultural, and environmental asset.

In the first part of the visit, the Peccioli model will be presented, with a focus on the technologies adopted and the ways in which the facility manages significant volumes of waste while maintaining a limited environmental impact (for example, absence of odors and low visual impact).
Subsequently, the focus will shift to governance and territorial regeneration: how the engagement of the local community, contemporary art integrated into the site, and cultural infrastructure have contributed to making the facility not only an industrial center, but also a driver of development for the territory.

By the end of the visit, participants will gain:

• a concrete understanding of how a company operating in a “traditional” sector can evolve into an organization with strategic territorial impact;
• insights into governance, sustainability, and community levers that can also be applied in non-environmental corporate contexts;
• a practical idea of how to design initiatives within their own field that integrate economic value, environmental impact, and stakeholder engagement.
