Italy in a changing world: challenges and prospects of a Country in transition

In a historical period marked by intense international tensions, geopolitical realignments, and profound internal transformations, Italy is called upon to redefine its role within the European and global context. Domestic political dynamics are increasingly intertwined with external factors, creating a complex yet decisive landscape for the country’s future.

The webinar, featuring Antonio Polito, journalist and former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Corriere della Sera, will offer a critical and informed analysis of the current Italian landscape. The session will provide an opportunity to examine how domestic and foreign policy choices impact Italy’s credibility, decision-making capacity, and development prospects.

By the end of the session, participants will have gained a deeper understanding of:

  • Italy’s political and institutional framework and the risk of sliding from a state of almost accidental stability into a new era of instability
  • international relations and Italy’s role within Europe
  • energy independence and the vulnerability stemming from dependence on fossil fuels
