Global fractures: how geopolitics is reshaping the economy and markets (with networking lunch)

Palazzo Trecchi Via Sigismondo Trecchi, 20 - 26100 CREMONA

During this meeting, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the key interconnections between geopolitics, energy markets, international trade and finance, which are now increasingly critical for businesses and decision-makers.

The global context is, in fact, marked by persistent conflicts and strategic tensions – from the war in Ukraine to the Middle East and the rivalry between Washington and Beijing – which are redefining the rules of the international economy. This is compounded by new energy shocks and a growing opacity in financial markets, where the political decisions of a handful of leaders can shift hundreds of billions in a matter of minutes.

Through the analysis of Federico Fubini, Deputy Editor of Corriere della Sera, participants will be able to explore:

  • the intertwining of ongoing conflicts and the economic interests of key global players
  • the second energy shock and its implications for Italian markets: structural vulnerabilities, dependence on unreliable suppliers and the urgent need for new strategic autonomy.
