The 4 pillars of the frugal economy: a new approach to growth, through innovation and sustainability

In this session, participants will reflect on how, in a global context shaped by climate crises, geopolitical tensions, resource scarcity, and rising inequalities, the current economic model is showing increasingly evident limitations.

In response to these dynamics, Navi Radjou, innovation and leadership expert and author of the book “Frugal Economy”, will offer participants, also through concrete examples, an innovative perspective on how companies can generate sustainable growth and long-term well-being by doing more with less, leveraging the paradigm of the frugal economy.

In particular, the session will explore the four pillars underpinning the frugal economy model:

  • B3B synergies: sharing assets, infrastructure, and capabilities to reduce operating costs and waste
  • decentralized production: local and distributed production systems, enabled by digital technologies, for more resilient supply chains
  • local economic networks: leveraging territorial resources and skills to strengthen productive ecosystems
  • regeneration: best practices that create positive impact across the economy, society, and the environment.
