Innovation made in Europe: AI, the space economy and new opportunities for businesses (with a networking lunch)

ComoNExT Innovation Hub Via Cavour 2 - 22074 COMO

At this event, participants will have the opportunity to understand how Artificial Intelligence and the space economy are emerging as two key drivers of European competitiveness and the future of industry.

On the one hand, AI Factories and the development of smaller yet sovereign and entirely European AI models represent a crucial step towards ensuring the security of corporate data and cross-sector applications. On the other hand, the space economy is evolving into a genuine enabling infrastructure for connectivity, data and new digital services. In both cases, understanding what is being done – and what needs to be done to avoid falling behind – is now a strategic priority for businesses and decision-makers.

Michela Milano, Director of the Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bologna, will guide participants in analysing the European strategy for building its own sovereignty in AI. Luca Rossettini, CEO and Founder of D-Orbit, a world-leading Italian company in space logistics, will offer the perspective of someone building a European champion in space logistics, highlighting the growing role of orbital infrastructure.

In particular, their insights will shed light on:

  • the role of AI Factories and European models as a source of competitive advantage for businesses
  • how the AI Act can become a strategic asset for European innovation
  • concrete opportunities for businesses and decision-makers: from the adoption of secure AI models to access to space economy services
  • the role of Europe and its industrial leaders in global competition
