AGGIORNAMENTO PERMANENTE

"Mission Command": the art of leading without controlling (with networking lunch)

Accademia Militare di Modena Piazza Roma, 15 - 41121 MODENA

During this meeting, participants will explore the concept of Mission Command, a leadership model developed in the military context that offers particularly relevant insights for managers and organizations operating in increasingly complex environments characterized by a high degree of decision-making autonomy. At the heart of the discussion will be one of the key challenges of contemporary leadership: how to ensure alignment, accountability and results without constantly controlling people.

The discussion will be led by Paolo Tripodi, Professor of Military Ethics at the Marine Corps University in Quantico, who will share principles and experiences developed in contexts where leadership, decision-making and responsibility play a crucial role, connecting them with the challenges of leading contemporary organizations.

The meeting will take place in the prestigious setting of the Military Academy of Modena, one of Italy’s most authoritative and historic military institutions, offering participants a unique opportunity for discussion and in-depth exploration in a setting of particular significance.

In particular, participants will explore:

  • mission command: striking the right balance between command authority, delegation and freedom of action
  • trust and empowerment: creating the conditions for people to act autonomously and consistently with the shared mission and objectives
  • cohesion and distributed leadership: guiding the group towards common, long-term objectives while strengthening a sense of belonging, even in conditions of uncertainty and pressure.
