The pandemic has amplified some current trends in the Italian and European political scenario, highlighting some criticalities, both at the level of political leadership and party system. In times of crisis, in fact, when the usual ties and references are broken, it is the leaders and the governments that take on a fundamental role: if, on the one hand, they have to manage uncertainties and doubts often insoluble, on the other hand they must show responsibility and provide certainty to the country, outlining solid, credible and clear solutions.
Extraordinary leadership skills are a key ingredient to achieve this, but every era (and nation) gives rise to its own leaders, with very different styles, agendas and goals.
So, what is the profile of today’s political leaders? What is their relationship with the territory and with companies? What has changed in leadership styles compared to the past? And what can we expect from politics (and parties) in the coming years?
