The Palazzo Ducale in Genoa has a history that begins in the thirteenth century as a result of the prosperity of the city achieved with victories against other maritime cities. In the following centuries, Palazzo Ducale was the seat of several administrative and judicial offices and, since 1992, has been a dynamic and prestigious cultural centre and home to today’s Foundation, which every year hosts many exhibitions of international interest.

The meeting will begin with an introduction by Luca Bizzarri, actor, comedian and President of the Palazzo Ducale Foundation; then there will be a meeting with the Director Serena Bertolucci who will guide us through the Esher Exhibition. Escher was Dutch engraver and graphic designer, famous for its lithographs, engravings and half-engravings that tend to present impossible and paradoxical constructions, as well as explorations of infinity and space-time. His works are in fact much loved by scientists, mathematicians and physicists, who appreciate the rational use of geometric distortions and original interpretations of concepts belonging to science.
