AGGIORNAMENTO PERMANENTE
IN PERSON
Managing anger and conflict as an Executive: the effects of negativity on stress, motivation and efficiency
(with networking lunch)

Villa Quaranta Tommasi Wine Hotel & SPA Via Ospedaletto, 57 - 37026 PESCANTINA (VR)

The pressure experienced by Executives can lead to the accumulation of negative feelings. At times, also anger, if not properly managed, can manifest itself outwards, creating friction and conflict externally, or inwards, generating psychophysical damage to the person experiencing it. Either way, in the long run anger will affect the organization as a whole, which will eventually lose cohesion, motivation and effectiveness. The only way out of this trap is to work on the incommunicability that separates leader and team, by learning to deal with negative emotions.

Which consequences does a bad anger management have on oneself and one's team, especially in the relationship with the younger generation? Is it possible to express negative feelings constructively? How can one "break" the cycle of resentment?

The objective of this meeting is to offer participants the opportunity to reflect on anger and the negative impacts that bad anger management can unleash in the company. To do so, they will be able to engage with Mike Fisher, a psychotherapist who has worked for decades with Executives around the world to help them manage stress and tension related to their roles. In his dialogue with participants, he will address how they can exercise power and authority constructively so as to avoid negative impacts on team motivation. In particular, he will bring the experiences of top managers and CEOs who have successfully revolutionized the way they exercise leadership. In detail, the meeting will address the following topics:

  • is there a "right" way to get angry? Are "explosion" or "implosion" the only available solutions?
  • the "revenge cycle" problem for productivity: how to avoid entering a cycle of anger, frustration, and demotivation
  • empowerment and respect: the pathway to an effective leadership in the long run.
