The macroeconomic scenario and the challenges for Italian companies

Palazzo della Meridiana Salita San Francesco, 4 - 16124 GENOVA

The first signs of a recovery in the business cycle can be seen. They are expected to strengthen in Europe both in the second half of the year and in 2025, while our central bank's rate-lowering cycle will continue until mid-2025. China also sees an improving economic outlook, and the United States will benefit from a "soft landing" of its economy, with rising GDP, falling inflation and a strong labor market.

Is the battle to inflation won in the euro area? Is Italy's relative positive growth performance only momentary or can it become lasting? How?

Participants will be able to delve into the global, European and Italian economic outlook with Gregorio De Felice. In particular, they will delve into Italy's outperformance relative to other European economies in recent years, to understand and strengthen the levers that have caused it such as the acceleration of residential, machinery and ICT investment. Investment growth needs to continue further, and the NRP represents a great opportunity because some 150 billion is still available that has not yet been spent. The growth drivers for companies are green and digital transition while the issue of human capital remains open and needs to be tackled decisively with a view to overall skills strengthening.
