U.S. geopolitics: origins and global implications of the Trump agenda (with a networking lunch)

Le Fucine Hotel Via Nazionale, 48 - 33042 BUTTRIO (UD)

The already fragile international balance is once again being tested by the radical agenda proposed by Donald Trump, which is rooted in a deep critique of the current world order—seen as detrimental to the strategic interests of the United States. At the heart of Trump’s vision lies the belief that American global leadership must evolve: no longer through unilateral hegemony, but through the assertion of primacy based on new power dynamics and a multipolar logic.
During this event, participants will have the opportunity to engage with Federico Petroni, analyst at Limes and expert in geopolitical scenarios, to delve into the implications of the Trump agenda on international, economic, and commercial fronts. The discussion will offer insights into how the United States’ new strategic priorities are reshaping global power balances, with direct consequences for ongoing conflicts, international trade, and Europe itself.
A specific focus will be dedicated to Italy: from the potential positioning of the Italian government in relation to a new U.S. administration, to the role our country may play within a European Union called upon to redefine its strategic autonomy and geopolitical stance.

Key topics to be explored include:

  • the United States' new foreign policy priorities: NATO, Ukraine, the Middle East
  • the evolution of the trade war and the scramble for strategic raw materials
  • the impact of U.S. foreign and economic policy on the European Union and Italy
  • potential implications for Italian businesses, particularly in the technology and manufacturing sectors highly dependent on critical resources.
