Better Decisions: how to overcome biases and improve decision-making in complex contexts (with networking cocktail)

E.N.P.A.P. Via Cesare Beccaria, 94/96 - 00196 ROMA

In an increasingly complex, fast-paced, and information-rich environment, the ability to make high-quality decisions is a critical competence for every leader. Cognitive biases, misleading intuitions, and the pressures of a VUCA context (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity) can undermine even the most strategic choices.
During the session, Vicki Morwitz will provide a clear, evidence-based overview of how decision-making processes work and how to recognize — and overcome — the main biases that influence our choices.

Participants will take away:

  • a deeper understanding of how decisions are formed (System 1 vs. System 2)
  • practical tools to distinguish when to rely on intuition versus analysis
  • a clear view of the most common biases (confirmation bias, sunk cost, anchoring, framing, overconfidence) and their real impact
  • concrete examples of how biases affect strategic and operational decisions in organizations.
In addition, Raja Rajamannar will offer a practical, managerial perspective on how to make high-impact decisions in a data-driven, AI-powered environment. Drawing on his experience at Mastercard, he will share how to balance intuition, consumer insight, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve decision quality.

By combining theory and practice, the session will provide a pragmatic perspective on how decision-making evolves in complex organizations and how leaders can strengthen judgment, alignment, and impact in a rapidly changing environment.
