New generations are profoundly reshaping the way work is experienced and understood. Young professionals increasingly seek a sustainable balance between work and personal life, collaborative and flexible environments, and expect organizations to integrate well-being, autonomy, and results. At the same time, many companies still struggle to fully grasp the work-life balance needs of their younger employees, creating a growing gap between expectations, traditional organizational models, and performance requirements.
How can companies reconcile organizational needs with the expectations of their employees in areas such as remote work, well-being, and work-life balance?
This session will feature a dual-perspective discussion with Marcello Russo, Professor of Business Organization and work-life balance expert, and Stefano di Carlo, General Director of Médecins Sans Frontières Italy, who will present the award-winning Collaboration Maximizer case: a post-pandemic internal reorganization initiative designed to promote a new work culture based on flexibility and cross-functional collaboration.
The discussion will specifically explore:

  • which aspects of work have the greatest impact on motivation and retention of new hires
  • how to balance organizational needs, productivity, and the well-being of employees
  • how to actively involve employees in defining new flexible work models.
