Crisis Ready® Communication: Managing and Navigating Communication in Crisis Situations (with Networking Lunch)

SELLA OPEN INNOVATION CENTER C.so Galileo Ferraris 32 - 10121 TORINO

How can organizations communicate effectively when under pressure, exposed to sudden crises and emotionally reactive stakeholders? And why do many crisis management strategies, while formally sound, tend to fail precisely at the most critical moments?
This session will explore the essential shift from crisis management based on static plans and formal procedures to a true crisis culture: a distributed, dynamic and emotionally intelligent organizational capability, able to respond authentically and coherently even in highly complex contexts. Crisis will not be treated as an exceptional event to be contained, but as a strategic competence to be developed over time.
The dialogue with Melissa Agnes will focus on the psychological dimension of communication in critical situations: as pressure rises, emotions often override rational thinking. Understanding these dynamics is key to crafting messages that do more than explain facts — messages that build resonance, trust and legitimacy with stakeholders.

In particular, the session will address:

  • from crisis management to crisis culture: how to transform documents and protocols into living, shared organizational capabilities grounded in emotional intelligence
  • the “Validate, Relate, Prove” model: a practical framework for communicating with reactive stakeholders and guiding them from resistance to trust
  • stakeholder psychology under pressure: why emotions drive decision-making in critical moments and how to structure messages that speak to people before facts
  • implementation strategies: how to practically embed the Crisis Ready® principles across departments to create coherent, credible and authentic organizational responses.
