Artificial Intelligence and human capital: designing enterprise adoption that augments rather than replaces (with networking lunch)

Sede da definire UDINE

The introduction of artificial intelligence in organisations is often framed as a pure efficiency lever, capable of improving processes, decision-making and performance. However, AI adoption also raises crucial questions about the relationship between technology and human capital: when does AI genuinely support people’s work, and when does it risk replacing human judgement, reducing responsibility and eroding skills?

In this session, Federico Cabitza, Associate Professor at the University of Milano-Bicocca and Director of Digital Health and Wellbeing at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, will lead a critical and practical reflection on the role of AI in organisational contexts. Through examples, metaphors and real cases of AI integration across business functions, the session will provide participants with tools to understand how to design AI use in ways that enhance human capital without deskilling or devaluing it.

During the session, participants will explore:

  • the role of artificial intelligence in organisations, including opportunities and risks, to better interpret how it works
  • examples of AI integration supporting different business areas and decision-making processes
  • the concepts of appropriate reliance, abuse and disuse of AI to assess a balanced and conscious use of the technology
  • the impact of AI on individual and team performance, as well as on responsibility dynamics within teams
  • the design of systems and practices that position AI as a tool to augment human capital.
