Negotiating is an art to be learned day by day, at work and in private life, and is one of the most complex and difficult forms of communication. Knowing how to deal with a complex negotiation, whether inside or outside the organization, is essential to achieving business and personal goals.
Nick Coburn-Palo, an experienced diplomat and trainer of negotiators for the United Nations, will draw on his experiences in international negotiations to illustrate the principles of successful negotiation and the skills to develop and use in everyday negotiations.
In particular, he will focus on the following topics:

  • what the successes and failures of international diplomacy teach us
  • managing tensions and negative emotions during negotiations
  • identifying negotiating tactics and counterpart intentions
  • turning negotiation challenges into "Win-Win" opportunities
  • using cultural differences to your advantage
